Animals > Animals Typical of the Basin > Native, Protected Animals > Invasive Animals

Degradation of habitats in the Altamaha Basin has affected many of the animal species native to the area. Some of these native species now need protection to maintain viable populations.

Several species which have been introduced to the Altamaha Basin can cause problems for native species, including humans.
