Altamaha Arc Mussel Alasmidonta arcula

Endemic to the Altamaha River basin, this rotund pearly mussel lives in fine sand and is rare within its restricted range. The species has been recorded on the Altamaha and Ohoopee Rivers from seven quads in five counties.
