Eastern Creekshell Villosa delumbis

This small mussel is known from the Carolinas and Georgia. It is found in slowly moving stream headwaters along stable river banks in silty sand. The eastern creekshell has been recorded from the lower Ohoopee River in the study area, although it is reported to occur occasionally along the Altamaha.
