Wire-leaf Dropseed Sporobolus teretifolius Harper

When not in flower, this grass closely resembles wiregrass, which grows in the same habitat. Limited to southeast North Carolina and south Georgia, it grows in wet savannas and moist pinelands. It is threatened by the continuing loss of longleaf pine-dominated communities which are converted to development and pine plantations.
