Common Reed  Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud.

This tall grass forms clones in tidal, brackish wetlands. Often it takes over large areas, excluding the native marsh grasses.

Along the Altamaha, common reed is found in Glynn County by U.S. Route 17.
