Yellow Milkvine Matelea flavidula (Chapman) Woodson

This perennial vine has milky sap and opposite leaves. It is rare throughout its range, from eastern North Carolina to the Florida panhandle. Yellow milkvine is found in moist nutrient rich forests and on bluffs. Like other milkvines it flowers more when in an open, sunny area.

One population was found along a wet utility corridor.
